Accounting System Implementation Consultant



Crystal Stairs Inc. is migrating from its legacy Fundware accounting system to Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT accounting system. This project entails leading the discovery, design, setup and user access of the Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT accounting platform and to determine how to best blend our business processes with the Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT accounting platform capabilities.



  • Principle Project Manager responsible for the successful transition from the current Fundware accounting system to Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT accounting system.
  • Perform system, business and end-user process reviews to identify any inefficiencies and make recommendations to aid in improved productivity.
  • Oversee and validate data migration and conversions from the legacy system to the new system.
  • Oversee third-party integration tools.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional resources to deliver against defined timelines and agency accounting business requirements.
  • Anticipate project risks and issues, confidently address all challenges, mitigate risks and issues and escalate to appropriate parties where required.
  • Oversee training of end users on the Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT accounting system.
  • Provide operational support during the first three months of post implementation and provide training as required.
  • Document new procedures for all accounting and purchasing functions.



  • Two years' experience implementing accounting systems for nonprofit organizations is required. Experience implementing Blackbaud Financial Edge is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of personnel from the frontline Payroll/Accounting professionals to the CFO and other executives. Including the ability to make complex ideas understandable and craft requirements that are easy to comprehend.
  • Good understanding of General Accounting principles (GL-AP-AR) and purchasing knowledge and the ability to resolve concerns.
  • Solid project management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
