Human Resources - Training & Development

Location: Los Angeles

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist with a special emphasis in Training & Development/Organizational Development to plan, organize and coordinate all training activities for Crystal Stairs staff, to include analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Ensure consistency of training in meeting the Agency's strategic objectives and goals.   Provide expert consultation, analysis, facilitation, research and project management in all areas related to the education, talent management, performance management, training and development of Crystal Stairs employees. The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:  

Training & Development

  1. Design, develop, deliver and facilitate training and support interventions.
  2. Provide oversight and coordination for Agency-wide training, make recommendations and develop training policies/procedures.
  3. Designs and develops HR training programs for management and employees.
  4. Provide ongoing assessment of training needs and develop appropriate training plans/strategies.
  5. Assure the principles of adult learning, training, consulting, use of technology, and sound business practices are applied to training and development.
  6. Establish and implement training schedules and calendars based upon priorities and needs of requesting business units including staff availability and planned calendars.
  7. Design measurement tools and feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new training programs.
  8. Develops learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides, and lesson plans.
  9. Network with training and organizational development professionals to inform training curriculum development.
  10. Attend trainings and remain current on matters affecting Training and Development.

Talent Management

  1. Make recommendations for improvement of workflow processes and other factors that impact employee performance.
  2. Directs the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company.
  3. Provide ongoing coaching on training issues to management staff for individual development and performance plans.
  4. Facilitates communication among employees and management. May guide managers and employees on problem solving, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.

Performance Management

  1. Initiate, track and support the annual performance appraisal process.
  2. Provide training support for employee IDP/IPP initiatives and goals.
  3. Provide regular feedback to employees on ways to enhance abilities and skill.

 Project Management

  1. Designated Project Leader over all annual corporate events to include the All Staff Appreciation Event, Annual Business Meetings and Holiday Events.
  2. Implement and integrate LMS with current software and technology.
  3. Serve as back up in the areas of administrative support and as systems administrator and manage the HRIS function and processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of data in ADP and other systems.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with education and training in instructional design, adult learning theory, training techniques.
  • 5 years of training and instructional design experience preferably within a non-profit environment, to include a minimum 3 years experience designing, implementing and delivering training of a technical nature.  Proficiency in needs assessment and development of appropriate training plans. Must have excellent presentation, platform and facilitation skills, and possess a strong ability to influence, negotiate, educate and persuade.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Requires excellent written, oral, written and interpersonal skills.  Must be flexible and able to multi-task while working in a collaborative, team environment.  Must have ability to work with persons of diverse backgrounds and interests.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of training and development.   Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office and other software, to include software applications, spreadsheets, database applications and graphic design.
