What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a Program Assistant II who will provide support to the R&R Department to include clerical support for various department functional projects; data entry and updating of Library and child care referral databases; and assistance with department/project trainings and special events. The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:


  1. Perform administrative, clerical and data entry tasks to assist with the daily operation and function, as well as special activities and trainings related to the R&R Resource Library;
  2. Provide support for various tasks related to the Department's child care referral function, including but not limited to filing/recordkeeping, data entry and updating of referral database; including communication with child care providers and parents (English and Spanish speaking)
  3. Assist with planning and implementation of R&R Department special projects and training activities which consists of having verbal and written capabilities in English and Spanish to research resources and information; develop the quarterly training calendar and other documents; communicate with child care providers and agency partners as needed.  
  4. Within general procedures, exercise independent judgment and discretion in tasks such as making appointments, receiving visitors, composing correspondence or announcements, and answering telephone calls
  5. Other duties as assigned by management staff



  • A.A. degree preferred, with some classes in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development from an accredited college; years of related work experience can be substituted for the AA degree.
  • Minimum one year working in administrative or clerical support positions; Previous experience in early childhood education or child care field preferred
  • Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excellent data entry skills; Proficiency in use of basic office equipment; Knowledge of Crystal Stairs' programs & service area.  
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be detail oriented; Must be flexible and cooperative team player; Requires excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish; Must have excellent customer service skills; Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively; Ability to lift 25 pounds; must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, squat or climb without difficulty.
  • Must have the ability to exercise initiative, self-discipline and efficient thought processes to complete job responsibilities with minimal supervision;
  • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and handle changing priorities and deadlines; Sensitivity to and ability to work well with diverse individuals, groups and management levels.
